Absinthe's Neverland Premiere‏

Oh...before I get going, Laura Hadar and Corey Bolo hosted the premiere of Peepshow behind the Salt Lake City shop FICE on a DIY projector against a building. It was quite cool. Absinthe loves Utah, and Utah loves Absinthe. We are lucky enough that they have premiered their movies in Salt Lake and Park City (usually days apart) for several years now. Justin Hostynek and Patrick Armbruster have consistently put out amazing videos. While videos like Pop, Futureproof and Optimistic have blown minds and upped the ante, last year's Ready got a resounding "meh" from audiences. However, the team pooled their resources and Neverland has once again put Absinthe at the top of the heap. Salt Lake City is in an enviable position for many reasons, not the least of which is the amazing terrain and huge talent pool. Peepshow Premiere

First there was Misschief Films and Chunkyknit Productions. Then Misschief became Runway, and Amber and Alexis and Co. are on to different projects. Riders like Esther Preda, Desiree Melancon and Sara Phillips wanted to take the realm of women's riding films in a different direction. These girls get gnarly, and they want you to know. Peepshow is the new kid on the block, and are operating on the principle of "I get by with a little help from my friends." They don't have much for money, and they crash hard trying new urban combos, and unlike most movies, they leave all of the tough stuff in. It isn't like other movies, where you get a crash sequence, or a bail reel. You're seeing things as they happen, and you're seeing how hard it really is to back board a steep stair set, nosepress a concrete ledge, and land huge drops into deep powder (it's a lot harder than it seems!).
